Your invoices carry your legal company details: the name, the address, and, for businesses in the EU, your VAT number. When any of those change, or when you spot a typo, you can fix them yourself without leaving Gameplainer and without emailing us.

Editing your details

Open Settings, go to Billing, and expand Billing details. You will see your current company name, address, country, and VAT number in an editable form.

1. Update whichever fields you need. The country is a dropdown, so pick yours from the list rather than typing it.
2. If you are a VAT registered business, enter your VAT number in the format your country uses, for example BE0123456789 for a Belgian company.
3. Click Save billing details. You will see a brief saving indicator while the change reaches Stripe and comes back confirmed.

These details are stored securely on Stripe, our payment processor, and are used the next time an invoice is issued.

Why an invoice you already have does not change

Once an invoice has been issued its details are locked. If you change your company address today, last month's invoice keeps last month's address. An invoice is a legal record of a transaction at a point in time and finance teams and tax authorities rely on it not shifting under them after the fact.

So when you update your billing details think of it as "from the next invoice onward." Everything issued from now on carries the new details and everything already issued stays exactly as it was.

If a genuinely incorrect invoice has already gone out and you need a corrected version, reach out to us and we will sort out a proper correction.

About VAT numbers

When updating your VAT number, our payment processor Stripe is used to validate it, which is why it updating it can take an extra moment. If the new number fails validation your old one stays put, so you are never left with a blank or broken VAT field.
